United Mission to Africa is a non-profit organization created in 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic. The founder, Apelete Sani have worked on the forefront of the pandemic as frontline nurse. On his unit he has cared for and treated hundreds of Coronavirus patients.
In the midst of a global pandemic, even the richest countries with the most sophisticated healthcare systems in the world found themselves powerless and unprepared for the events unfolding. Millions of individuals have lost their lives while the majority of the world has been shut down completely for months.
Apelete Sani has come to realize the degree of vulnerability that African communities have against not only this pandemic, but a host of other diseases that engulf the continent.
In an effort to combat the difficulties that these communities face, he decided to create this nurse- driven non-profit that aims to organize free healthcare missions to Togo and throughout Africa. The goal is to promote basic healthcare practices, healthcare education and to help create and maintain basic healthcare infrastructure’s preparedness for any future epidemics.
Our vision is to see a world where every individual regardless of their socioeconomic status or geographic location, has the right and easy access to basic healthcare services.
At United Mission to Africa, we are committed to promoting universal healthcare as a fundamental human right and driving tangible progress towards achieving health equity for all.
Our mission is to promote and increase easy access to healthcare by:
1- Donating medical supplies, providing free medical services and education to the most vulnerable communities,
2-Renovating, building or suppling basic healthcare infrastructure throughout the underserved communities,
3- Advocating equitable policies, fostering community partnerships, and empowering individuals through education and access to healthcare services.
